Are any 707's still in service? If yes, where, and who is it operated by?

Are there any other old historic planes that are still in commercial use?

I don't know much about 707's, but I'm sure some are still in service somewhere. John Travolta owns and flies one for his own personal use. Even older, there are many DC-3's from the 1930s still in service, and there is at least one Ford Trimotor (1920s) still making scheduled flights (down in the Caribbean, I believe). There are also many old biplanes used for scenic rides by operators all over the country.

John travoltas 707 shouldnt count. Hes rich, he owns it. He doesnt operate it for profit.

The dc8 is a workhorse for freight. Im sure the 707s are going strong somewhere. But like i said the dc8 still hauls freight in the US. The design of the 707 is the basis of the kc135 tanker still in servie here in the states. Its nice to see a '707' do some touch and goes. Delta (and northwest) still rock the dc9s, 727 are flying freight still, and airlines in other countries still use the 737-200s. Dc3s are going strong in south america, they are very rugged aircraft and are awesome for those unpaved runways down there. I seen them on a tv show a few months ago. I still see an occasional convair ummm 550 or whatever that the faa owns.

I dont know why i answered this. I just restated what everyone else said. Whatever lol

Besides the obvious examples flying with air forces around the world, there are a few civilian 707s still around. Most are used for cargo, and the majority are in Africa, South America or Central Asia.

Buffalo Airways in Yellowknife still operates DC-3s and C-46s on scheduled routes. As well other small operators around the world still fly them.

The US military still uses 707s, albeit updated versions with newer engines and glass cockpits.

There are air-delivery companies that still use DC-3s and DC-4s. Check out the TV show, Ice Pilots NWT.

There are some DC-3 still in use in South America - and probably in Africa -

You could also find C-46, DC-4 and DC-6 -

If looking for 707 - go to Congo (Zaïre), a couple are still flying passengers -

There is one PBY in river operations based in Manaus, Brasil -

707's are not classic or vintage in my opinion ! Look up the website for Air Atlantique classic flight in the U.K. Now that is what I call a classic aircraft collection !

Of course. 'Old' aircraft are frequently used at cargo airlines. 707, DC8, DC9, etc Those are all still operated. Even DC-3s and Convairs are still used.

I don't know the names of any airlines that operate these planes but I can definitely tell you that they are still used

Kc-135, EC-135, ect ect. there are also a few in south america and south africa that are used as cargo, but their maintenance practices are somewhat under-par so i would go an try to get a ride or anything.

I think Nikos may be wrong - I believe that DC-3s are still in use in South America (but I might be wrong instead of him).

I thinki 707 are still used for freighting

Not sure though

Generally many old planes are used for freighting like 737-200s

But no historic planes as in old prop planes are not in use
