I've been into planes and aeronautics from the time I've been 11 years old and I want to be a pilot. Everything I do is based on aeronautics whenever I'm on the computer all I watch is videos of planes simulator or real...I get a sensation through my body when I hear the engine of any jet or prop. Plane crashes, engine problems... nothing scares me. I'm just bewitched....

What about you?.......

Same thing here. I first got interested in planes when I was three. I was one of those weird little girls, if given the choice to have a poney or an airplane, I would take the plane. I'm still like that today. I love the simulators and I have to say the best sim that I have been in is the B-2 full motion sim at Whiteman. That was AMAZING!!! I'm working on getting my pilots license and I'm willing to bet I will be the only girl at my high school with a pilots license. I have always told myself, I would be a pilot no matter what, even if I didn't get paid. I would fly people for free, I would just do it to fly. I'm pretty much the same as you though, all I talk about it flying and all I watch is flying. My ultimate dream is to become an astronaut though, that would just be the best thing ever.

I absolutley LOVE that quote, it's sooo true!

I sure wasn't a born flyer. I was shooting pool on a weekend during army basic training expecting to be in Vietnam in a few months carrying an M16 through rice paddies. The first Sargent came in and hung a new poster on the wall. It was a picture of a Huey helicopter with a bunch of pretty nurses being helped out of the aircraft by the crew chief and a guy that looked about my age sitting in the cockpit. The caption read, "If you have a high school diploma or GED equivalent you could be sitting in this pilot's seat in a year." I yelled, "Hey top, where do I sign up."

Didn't think I'd ever get it. Last in my class to solo but ended up tied for second at graduation. Almost four decades later in all modesty I'll say that few can match me in skill and knowledge in the air. So you don't have to be a born flyer. If I can do it having never giving it a thought like me when I was young, then all anybody has to do is decide that's what they want to be and make it happen.

I first became interested in aircraft when i was 5, that was when my grandparents went to USA. Today, the madness is so much that i get low marks in my studies because i keep thinking about aeroplanes all day long! The best day of my life was when i got a chance go sit on the pilot seat and handle a Cessna 172 while flying at 3000 ft. That was two years ago but even today when i think of that moment, it sends vibes through my body! I madly want to be a pilot but the only thing geting in my way is money:-( I have even cleared the Class 1 medical. But i know that someday i will be a pilot zooming through the skies in a shining 777!

Well if you are getting really good at flying that simulator, and you are a flight simulator addict (like me) and you have an inspiring sensation when you hear those engines roaring, (like you described) and you love airline travel, i'll bet 98% that you were born a flyer.

I understand what you mean - I have grown up around the aviation industry as both of my parents started taking lessons when I was just two years old. I knew that even if I didn't become a pilot that I would end up with a career in aviation and that's exactly what I have done. I truly believe that aviation is something in your blood!

Mine's similar to yours. Whenever i hear a plane i have to look up and see it go by. I'm always interested in what causes flight emergencies and they don't scare me either. my favorite is to hear about emergencies that end up well. i saw a video of a king air landing with no gear and i could watch it over and over. I love the power of take-off, the rush of landing, and the feeling of cruising 3,000 ft above the ground,

When everything else sucks! That is an indication. My life has always been a misery when I've had to do something else. You sleep and breath the sky. Nothing can match this. Period!

yea my destiny is to fly! I've been attracted to aeronautics and aircraft since i was a kid, when i first saw and flown in a DeHavilland Beaver at the age of 5. That started my passion for flying and aircraft. Plus i always get that cool feeling when i'm flying, and i love it. Nothing can rival with it. I stay and flightsim for up to 12 hours a day in the weekends, and time just seems to fly by. Like at 8 in the morning i'm at the PC taking off and after what i thought to be 3-4 hours, it's actually 8-9! I always feel at home in aircraft, and also love to be around airports and planes, watch planes fly by, take off, land, etc. like to watch all kinds of videos from takeoffs and landings to mid-air explosions and collisions, and all kinds of stuff related to airplanes, but i hate to see destroyed planes. My computer is mostly dedicated to FS2004 and FSX, each with their add-ons(some 140-GB overall), some 40-GB is mostly for movies&music, GTA:SA, FarCry and NFSU2, Windows partition and a bunch of photos, and 50-GB more left to fill up with planes and other stuff, plus the free space required for smooth operation. Apart from looking for some new games for my PC and answering on Yahoo! and some random site browsing, i spend approximately 70% my online time only on FS and FSim sites, but i have to get a better internet connection, coz it's too weak for a good online experience in FSX. And i have to agree with you, nothing sounds better than a jet or a prop. Planes are my passion, planes are my life. I'm 16 and just started junior year in highschool, but i look forward to going to college maybe, then after that, i'll apply for an aviation job....And if i'll die in a plane crash, that's fine with me, at least i'll die doing what i like, flying. But that doesn't mean i won't try my best to save my ***!:D I'm born to fly, my passion for flight is strong. That's what i feel. But it depends on others to judge me, not only on my opinion. And i agree with 17drums, it was mankind's dream to fly... I've always wanted to go and rent a plane to fly, but i don't have enough money :'( and i feel bad about that. My toys(yea i keep my toys :D got 6 boxes of them, and the 7th box is starting to fill up) are mostly airplanes and airplane scale-model kits, all sorts of them, because those are the only toys i like. Maybe some collector's cars and other stuff (including baseball player, duel masters, yugioh and other cards i collect), i don't really keep track of my stuff.

@ ftrastronaut: i love that quote, that should become the "Aircraft" section's motto. And ours, too.

.

It is a pleasure to meet you people that really appreciate the beauty of flight and aircraft. Best of luck, may your dreams come true, and happy flying from me!
