Question:
737-800 VOR POINTER QUESTION?

VOR 1 and VOR 2. They both have needles that point directly to the respectively tuned VORs, right?
However, in Flight simulator X, I cant make the VOR1 needle point directly to the VOR. I can only do this with the VOR 2.
Also, Is there any way to see ADF, VOR1 VOR2 at the same time (without using the backup)
It really bugs me that the VOR 1 needle doesnt turn directly to the station. im tired of switching and swapping to backup all the time. Is it a glitch???

I do not answer FSX questions -

Further - You state "787-800"...

Do you think that 737-700 or 737-900 has any different instruments...?

Call it a 787-8FS then...? - Make it more specific...! -

The lack of common sense of FSX games users is appalling -

Its called a radio magnetic indicator (RMI) gumball...

The VOR 1 needle corresponds to the NAV 1 radio, tuned through the radio management panel or the CDU.

The VOR 2 needle corresponds to the NAV 2 radio, you tune it via the same method as stated above.

You switch between ADF and VOR by the selector switches on the RMI. Some RMI's only have VOR 2 and ADF, some have both VOR 1/2 and ADF 1/2. It depends.

Now, you should really post this in an FSX forum. There are plenty out there. All you've got to do is look them up by way of Google, and voila', you can troubleshoot your problems there.

1) Standard VOR indicators do NOT point directly at the station. The needles indicate a relative position to a selected VOR radial. The needles on an RMI do point directly at the station, so you must first determine if you are talking about true VOR indicators, or RMI indicators that have a VOR / ADF function. I don't have the game so cannot tell you.

2) In either case, dual VOR's or dual RMI's are each controlled by a separate navigation receiver. You may have different stations tuned in each receiver. Or, in the case of dual RMI's, one RMI may be set to VOR mode and the other is set in ADF mode.

Set to NAV instead of GPS on instrument panel and put the correct ILS frequency setting on NAV 1 for the runway and put the airport VOR on NAV 2.

Ask in the GAME section as FSX is a COMPUTER GAME not a 737-800.
