I am a flight instructor and I want to start recording flight lessons. Recording allows for a better critique and improved student retention of information.

How do other people record flights? How do you record cockpit communications and air traffic control transmissions?

You asked this three weeks ago and even and few ideas of your own when you asked the recording question. Which I guess didn't take since you're asking again.

I attached a screw the same size as a tripod screw to a block of wood and attached a couple of mouse pads to the other side of the block of wood to absorb the engine vibrations. Attach the camera to the screw and place on the dash.

You can place a small external microphone into one of your headset ear cups to record all communications without external noise. I've never hooked up a mic before, but I do know it works great.

Velcro a camera to the dashboard so it doesnt interrupt your view. Ive also heard of people putting whole tripods in the back seat. I have seen others tape a small camera to the ceiling

if you want a view out the front window, you could try a gopro but as for radio chatter it might only pick up what you say outloud/into your headset

You put the ATC on loudspeaker and start recording with a HD cam :))
