My son and grandchildren saw a neon colored plane(looked liked a fighter jet).What is it?

If you live near an Air Force Base, it probably was a type of fighter jet. We have 2 AFB's in my state and we always see strange looking planes.

It could have been a older model Learjet. The Lear 25 is small with wing tip tanks. "Fighterjet-like" looks from the ground. Funky paint job? Hey, you be the judge. There is a new "personal jet" due out soon. The "Javelin" is in its final stages of certification. It basically is a privately owned fighter jet (without weapons, of course). And there are a few others as well.

Not sure what you saw. I know the Navy has trainers that are painted a bright orange. T45s are painted that way. They are not combat capable, in general, but are used to train pilots.
