blackhawk has a tail wheel at the end of the tail boom while Seahawk has the tail wheel at the root of the tail boom (i suspect that to be due to better handling and docking on the deck)

apart from differences in equipment and armament - seahawks are setup for the ASW anti submarine warfare among other missions.. having sonar buoys and torpedoes on Blackhawk would be stupid, dont you think?

Different uses. The Black Hawk is primarily a troop carrier / medevac. Visually it is distinguished from the Sea Hawk by having its tail wheel at the end of the tail boom, while the Sea Hawk is near the fuselage.

The Sea Hawk is a multi-role platform. It has modifications for shipboard handling and storage, such as folding rotor blades and folding tail boom. (That's why the tail wheel is so far forward.) The SH-60 also has corrosion protection, and more powerful engines than the Black Hawk.

The newest versions in the Navy fleet are SH-60H used for search and rescue; SH-60S, a transport / vertical replenishment, the S model will also be used for mine clearing; and SH-60R, an anti-submarine / anti-ship platform / search and rescue platform.

I believe the biggest differences are the equipment on board. Both aircraft are essentially the same, but one is outfitted for ship duty, and one for insertion/extraction.

I'm from an aircraft background (don't like helis - don't trust them) The sea hawk I know was an aircraft and not a heli, I stand to be corrected.
