How many hours of glider training does it take to do a first glider solo?

That depends on how fast you learn. There's no legal minimum. It depends on when your instructor thinks you can do it. I know a couple of people who soloed in 3 hours and one with more than 100 who still can't fly.

There is no set minimum. I think I soloed in a glider after 5 or 6 hours.

There is a minimum set by the BGA (british gliding association) that is I think about 22 launches, or that's what my instructor has told me.

Average at my club I guess is about 50-60 I've seen people go solo after 30 launches though, I was hoping to go solo tomorrow on my 16 bday, but due to weather it ain't going to happen.

I think its atleast 200hrs am not so sure though..
