The phones will not make the planes fall it just messes up the communication between the pilot and the guys on the ground. I am sure if you turn your phone on on a plane nothing will happen but just to be sure do NOT do it. Most of the planes have their own games on the screen you have in front of you.

The FAR's say you may not use any electronic devise during the take off or landing procedures. Once you have obtained flight and are at a safe altitude, the pilot will usually clear you to use your electronic devise. This is mandated by the FAA so the air carrier must comply. Your answer will it efect the flight... most likely not. Most of the avionics systems utilizing any data bus lines, use twisted shielded wire, which shield the systems from being interfered with by transmitting devics... and all electronic devices give off "noise" which can interfere with avionic systems.

However the FAA cannot control what "carry on" items are brought on board, so as a precautionary measure, they mandate this rule. As far as the Satalite phones as mentioned above, most of the coporate aircraft already use these... using SATCOM's or or Aircells using the iridium. The issue at the moment is the cost. When a phone call cost between $4 - $9 a minute... there are not a lot of coach customers willing to pay that price.

It won't affect the flight -- common misconception. The airlines are scrambling to install satellite equipment that will allow you to eventually use your cell phone on board. The cell phone frequencies are nowhere near the ones used in aviation for communication or navigation.

Most newer phones have an airplane mode that shuts off the radio portion of the phone. The Moto Razer is one that has this feature. If you put it in airplane mode, you'll normally be allowed to play games on it without hassle.

Again, you are asked to leave your cell phones turned OFF during flight. I doubt the games will work with the phone turned off.

short answer - it ought to influence some platforms. Electromagnetic Compatability / Interference may bring about all kinds of unforseen occurences at any degree in the course of the flight. some ought to correctly be benign, others must be catastropic. If used in the course of an apporach to land, cellular telephone alerts were everyday to tug ILS glideslope / localiser bars faraway from the runway centreline. If visibility is undesirable, the safe practices implications are obvious - quite if the Autopilot is coupled into the ILS. the flexibility is there for the aeroplane to fly itself into the floor with out anybody onboard realising. the most possibly outcome that cellphones could have are on the communications platforms. A pilot does no longer opt to hearken to crackling, humming, etc; in his headset in the course of a intense workload attitude - at the same time as an fool contained in the cabin is jabbering away on their telephone because they imagine they comprehend extra effective. cellular telephone alerts can influence plane on floor aswell, that is been everyday for alerts to set off launch of wing shops or perhaps spark off ejector seats. So in case you ever see anybody making use of a cellular telephone besides close to an aeroplane - slap them. some airways are pondering permitting using cellphones onboard, in spite of the undeniable fact that in hardship-free words with everyday frequency bands that were totally examined to verify Electromagnatic Compatability with plane platforms. it ought to appear like scaremongering, and cases like those defined above are fortunately very uncommon yet in spite of the undeniable fact that slender the probability is i ought to point that you hearken to the crew at the same time as they inform you to coach off your telephone.

Cell phones and game will NOT effect the aircraft in any way.

P.S. Mythbusters proved it did not interfere in a real plane.

Yes. You can play with your phone on a plane. You could actually get several and use them like wood blocks. Or, I like to lay mine down and spin it around.

Use airplane mode if you have one. It switches off the radio signalling circuits and leaves you with a phone that doesnt have a service provider.

you can as long as your phone had a feature that allows you to turn off the "transmit mode" otherwise, you are risking interfering with flight deck communications.

some phones, like mine, has what's called an airplane mode. in which the phone is still on so you can do whatever but it cannot receive any calls.
